Albuquerque, New Mexico –The Rio Grande Credit Union will host the annual RGCU Golf Classic on September 23 at the Sandia Golf Club and Event Center, located at 30 Rainbow Rd NE in Albuquerque.
The golf tournament will benefit the New Mexico Domestic Violence Resource Center (DVRC) and will include a four-person race, lunch, raffle and awards reception.
“Our annual Golf Classic is an amazing time to have fun and spend a day playing golf, while supporting organizations that strengthen and meet the vital needs of our community,” said Mike Athens, President and CEO of RioGrande Credit Union. “We are honored to partner with DVRC this year. Often, financial abuse is a component of domestic violence, and through our partnership, we can help DVRC empower victims to break this cycle of abuse. We hope everyone will join us in supporting this important organization.
In 2021, Rio Grande Credit Union hosted the most successful golf classic to date, rewarding two organizations with $15,000 each.
“Last year was a banner year for us, raising $30,000 for local organizations, and we look forward to another banner year in 2022,” Athens added.
Registration begins at 7 a.m. on September 23 and golf begins at 8 a.m. Registration is open to golfers and includes a one-year subscription to Golf Digest. Sponsorship opportunities are available and RGCU is accepting raffle prize donations.
