Entergy Texas offers bill credit to help customers with high bills

At Entergy Texas, our business is customer-centric, which is why we are working to provide relief to Texans facing high bills due to recent challenges. record temperatures led to historic statewide energy consumption this summer, and high natural gas prices continue to have a significant impact on the heart of our business – our customers. That’s why we’re partnering with United Way of Greater Houston in conjunction with neighboring United Ways to provide a $150 bill credit to eligible customers on a first-come, first-served basis.

The online application for bill credit will be available on the United Way of Greater Houston website at 9 a.m. on September 27. Customers should note that the application can be accessed from a desktop or mobile phone, but a mobile phone is required to receive the access code to verify account setup.

While the $150 bill credit is geared towards customers with low to moderate household incomes, all Entergy Texas residential customers are eligible to apply. To qualify, customers must have a total household income of up to 250% of the federal poverty level, which equates to $69,000 for a family of four. Billing credits are just one of the many ways Entergy Texas is committed to better serving its customers. Our Pledge of $1.7 million for bill-paying assistance for eligible residential customers includes an additional $213,000 for Entergy’s Power to Care program and $170,000 for local agency partners. In addition to bill payment assistance, Entergy Texas is accelerating $2.9 million in security deposits for more than 13,000 eligible customers.
